I try my level best to let it be, to not think about what happened, to not ponder over it anymore, but I just can’t.
Somewhere in the back of mind, the story continues to play over and over again. I have never left any relationship, in its broadest sense, on a bad note. I have a bad habit of sticking by people and being there even when they do not deserve me.
Truthfully speaking, that has helped me. I have earned some of the world’s best friendships of all times. I have seen beauty inside people whom the society has termed 'unacceptable'.
And I do not do it out of the goodness of my heart or all that clichéd stuff. I do it for my own selfish reasons, because these people with the hardest of exteriors, with thorns on the walls of their hearts have the most beautiful souls. These souls are the ones who actually stay beside you.
I still believe in that age old saying that says, "No one is bad. There is goodness even inside the darkest of creatures”.
These people do not need saving. They just need someone they can completely trust on and someone with whom they can share the musings of their soul.
So, no matter how much people mock me or use me, I try to stick with people, I try to be different than the rest.
I want to show people that there is still that one person with them, who will be with them through everything.
And believe me, they will surprise you, and those surprises can make your day.
